Living in a place named
after the forest of Robin
Hood, deer are common.
Little fawns are soft brown
earth colored
with spots of
sparkling sunlight
when they hide in the tall
grass in the Spring.
I have almost stepped on them when I am hiking. They are very quiet and still. Their calmness protects them. I do not touch them. It is not good to interfere in the lives of wild animals. By allowing wild habitat to develop, it helps give homes to wildlife.
